7 Reasons We Loved Staying at Conrad Fort Lauderdale

by kfitzsimons June 22, 2018

Earlier this year, we enjoyed Fort Lauderdale, Florida for a few days en route to the Bahamas. We chose to stay at the newly opened Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach and we were so happy we did! It was the perfect home base for all of our activities in Fort Lauderdale. Here are the many reasons the Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach blew us away:

Conrad Fort Lauderdale Hotel Fort Lauderdale, Florida

#1 Every room is a suite with a kitchenette

The Conrad Fort Lauderdale  Beach is an all-suite resort. No matter which style room suits your needs, each of the 290 rooms has a kitchenette with gourmet appliances. This was awesome for us because we often like to pick up healthy breakfast items, snacks or late lunches to enjoy while on vacation.

#2 Perfect location with direct access to the beach

The beach was right across the street from our hotel, so we enjoyed many mornings and evenings playing on the sand, collecting shells, and enjoying a DIY sunrise breakfast. The Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach also sets up beach chairs specifically for their guests (although not as early as we got there some days)!

#3 Gourmet market for quick bites and ice cream

Vacation activities can throw your eating schedule a curve ball, so we often are in need of a quick bite or snack to carry us until the next activity or meal. This gourmet market offered plenty of healthy snacks, salads, sandwiches and pastries. Guests can also order a pizza to go in the evenings. Of course, we also enjoyed the ice cream offerings while we there.

#4 Great Pool set up for adults and kids

Prior to my arrival and after looking at photos of the hotel online, I assumed that the Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach’s guests would be older. The pool and seating areas looked so posh (and they are)! In reality, there were many kids staying at the hotel and the pool was quite busy with little ones. We were there for several days around Easter which is Spring Break season. There were other areas on the same level as the pool deck where adults could sunbathe and enjoy some oceanfront cocktails without kids running around.

#5 Large bathroom with a separate soaking tub

Sand. Enough said!

#6 Large balcony with ocean views

There is nothing better than relaxing on your room balcony while breathing in the ocean air and seeing the waves crash on the beach. We really enjoyed having a balcony to chill, enjoy a glass of wine, or break for a bite. One downside is that during our stay a Four Seasons resort was being built next door, so our view was not as great as it will be when we return.

#7 Gorgeous Lobby, Bar, and Restaurants

Our stay at this hotel was really about accommodating our family and less about having the best amenities for us adults. However, it was obvious just how much detail went into planning the spaces within this new hotel and how much work goes into keeping all of the facilities spotless. Well done, Conrad!

Other notes: the staff throughout the hotel was very professional, friendly, and helpful. There is a charge of $40 per day for valet parking, so be prepared if you are planning to rent a car on vacation. We were out and about exploring Fort Lauderdale so felt it was worth it. (Read about what we did on my other post: Fun Things To Do In Fort Lauderdale With Kids.)

We will definitely be back to enjoy Fort Lauderdale!
