From the moment we arrived at the Four Seasons Hotel Chicago we were impressed. Upon check-in, my girls got to pick something from their big toy chest. And, when we entered our hotel room, we were delighted to find skyscraper cookies and milk waiting for us!
At the Four Seasons Hotel Chicago, kids also get their own mini robes. My girls loved their morning routine of putting their robes on and looking out at the beautiful architecture of the city. (Okay, maybe I did, too!)
One very cool perk at the Four Seasons Chicago is a special playroom dedicated for kids. They have table hockey, an arcade basketball hoop, board games, and more. We didn’t spend a lot of time there, but it was fun to visit once a day during our four-night stay.
Let’s discuss the pool. It was PER-fect. In winter, when everyone is craving a little bit of warm weather fun, there may be nothing better than walking into a 80-degree room with a fancy pool. It was big. The water was warm. It had stairs that led to a gradual descent into water (great for kids learning to swim!) Kickboards. Plenty of towels. And, here is a secret from me: if you stand near the stairs and look up you will notice a heating vent that will make it much more tolerable to be in the pool with your little ones!
The location of the hotel is close walking distance to many great shops and attractions on the famed Magnificent Mile. My girls especially loved visiting 360 Chicago, the observatory on the 94th floor of the John Hancock Building. Here, views of the city are incredible!
Don’t forget your camera…
As you can see from the above photos, it was very cold during our visit. We loved that there was a huge mall attached to the hotel to with a great restaurant (Oak Tree) as an alternate option for breakfast or brunch.
I’ve written so far about all of the things my kids loved about the hotel, but what impressed me most was the attentive staff at the hotel and their attention to detail. Our room was cleaned multiple times per day. And, when they could not access our room, they left us a voice message asking us when they might be able to come back to clean. (I wish I had taken a photo of how they organized our bathroom and all of my makeup a couple of days! It was impressive!) We also had to extend our stay one night after a change in travel plans and they were extremely accommodating.
Although its called the “Second City,” Chicago is actually the first city for my husband and me. We met in Chicago, had our first child in Chicago, and our parents and siblings still live there. As a result, we find ourselves traveling from our home in New York to Chicago a few times per year. I can’t wait to stay at the Four Seasons Hotel Chicago when we return!
Our stay was not sponsored by the hotel; all opinions are my own.
